Almanac
Privacy Policy
Effective July 2026
Almanac helps you track your bills and subscriptions. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control you have over it. We keep it plain on purpose.
What we collect
- Your account. The email address you sign up with, and a securely hashed form of your password. We never store your password itself.
- Bills you add. The names, amounts, due dates, and notes for the bills and income you enter or import.
- Bank data, only if you link an account. If you connect a financial institution through Plaid, we receive account and transaction information used to detect your recurring bills and income. Linking is optional and you can disconnect at any time.
Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device; we do not receive them.
How we use it
To provide the service: to show what you owe, when it's due, what you're committed to, and where your money goes. That's it. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Plaid, our bank-connectivity provider, when you choose to link an account. Their handling is covered by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Infrastructure providers that host the service on our behalf.
- Legal: if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of users.
We do not share your data with anyone else.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and encrypted at rest. Bank access tokens receive an additional layer of encryption. Access is limited to what's needed to run the service.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists so the app can preserve the bills, payment history, income, and settings you ask it to track. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. Deletion removes your account and associated data from Almanac's active systems, and we request revocation of linked financial connections. Limited records may remain temporarily in minimized security logs or approved provider-managed recovery copies until their bounded retention periods expire. To request deletion by email, contact support@billmanac.app. See also Delete your account and Data deletion.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Most of this is built into the app; for anything else, email us and we'll help.
Children
Almanac is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy we'll update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
